Teams group people who work together. MayaMaya compares each team's skills with the skills it needs, so you can see gaps and find people who would be a good fit.
Open Teams
Go to People > Teams, or select View Teams under Team Performance on the dashboard. The list shows each team's name, lead, department, last update, and performance percentage.
Performance shows how well the team members, combined, meet the requirements set for the team: Excellent (90% or higher), Good (80–89%), or Average (below 80%). You can filter the Teams list by Performance.
Create a team
Select Create New Team (or Create Team under Quick Actions on the dashboard). Creating a team has three steps.
Step 1: Basic Information
- Team Name, Department, and Team Lead (required).
- Work Style – Remote, Hybrid, On-site, or Flexible.
- Projects – type a project name and press Enter. Add as many as you need.
- Description (required) – describe in your own words what the team does, its goals, roles, and the skills it needs.
- Team Culture (required) – describe the team's values and how it works.
Select Save and Next.
Step 2: Skills & Requirements
MayaMaya uses your description to fill in the team's requirements. Review and adjust:
- Required Soft Skills – the level the team needs for each of the ten soft skills, out of 10.
- Required Job Skills – the technical and role-specific skills the team needs. Select Add to include more.
Select Save and Next.
Step 3: Add Members
After step 2, MayaMaya creates the team and confirms with Team Created Successfully! On Add Team Members, search Available Employees or filter by department, select the + icon on each person you want to add, then select Add Members. Each person shows their Team fit and key skills; hover over the information icon next to Team fit to see which required soft skills and technical skills the person is missing.
View team details
Select the view icon on a team's row. The top of the page shows Skills to Develop, Leadership Ready, Mobility Opportunities, open positions, and the team's performance percentage.
- Team Info – team skills, current projects, and team culture.
- Skills – for each soft skill, the Required, Current, and Missing levels (out of 10), plus the team's required, current, and missing job skills.
- Team Members – each member's role and skills, with Get Learning Path to see recommended learning. Available Recommended members suggests other people who could join.
Team Details
Edit or delete a team
- Edit – on the team details page, select Edit Team Details. You can update any of the three steps, then select Update team.
- Delete – select the delete icon on the team's row in the Teams list.
You can also add a person to a team from their profile. See Understanding a Person's Profile.
